My No. 1 Seeds in the NCAA Tourney and Why
With the NCAA Tourney right around the corner, the selection committee will have some long nights ahead of them. One of the main questions they will have to answer is, who are the No. 1 seeds? Let me take a few moments and give you my No. 1 seeds and why.
My first No. 1 seed and overall top No. 1 seed goes to: North Carolina.
Quite simply, this team has it all! Roy Williams has this team clicking on all cylinders. Led by point guard Ty Lawson and big man Tyler Hansbrough, they are close to impossible to stop! The only way UNC falls off the No. 1 seed line is if they fall to Duke in the season finale and lose early in the ACC Tournament.

My second No. 1 seed goes to: Pittsburgh.
The Pitt Panthers are extremely dominant right now. The inside play of DeJuan Blair and the playmaking ability of Levance Fields is second to none. The only question I have is, will the recent injury to Fields hamper the Panthers?
My third No. 1 seed goes to: Memphis.
Why Memphis, you might ask? Well, they are hitting their stride at the right time of the year. I don't care if the Memphis Tigers play in one of the weakest conferences in all of college basketball—credit must be given. It is extremely hard to go through a conference season undefeated, but to win over 50 straight games is remarkable!
My final No. 1 seed goes to: Oklahoma.
Yes, you read right—I said Oklahoma. Now I realize the Sooners are in the middle of a rough patch in their season, but if they can regain their focus, they can be a force to be reckoned with. With the likely player of the year Blake Griffin and great outside shooters, things could fall the Sooners' way. However, due to their recent slump, OU may need to win the Big 12 postseason tournament to gain that last No. 1 seed.
My possible No. 1 seed sleeper goes to: Kansas.
Rock...Chalk...Jayhawk...go KU. That small chant being sung for years still brings cold shivers to opponents back when they enter "the fog." The reigning National Champions may lack experience, but somehow they have done no worse than clinch a share of the Big XII regular season title.
Like Oklahoma, they may need to win the postseason conference tournament to get that No. 1 seed. However, one major hiccup working against them would be the devastating road loss recently to the Texas Tech Red Raiders by 19 points.
Those are my No. 1 seeds. What are yours?
