Yankees-Braves: Kennedy Hit Hard As Yankees Lose, 3-2, to Atlanta
The Yankees dropped another game today to the Atlanta Braves. Girardi sent out Ian Kennedy to start the game, and he was hit hard. IPK pitched three innings, allowing 3 hits, 2 runs (both earned), and a walk. “It’s tough when you feel like you’re going well and then you take a step back,” Kennedy said.
At least he isn’t happy about his outing. I know a lot of people were upset with what he was saying after the horrible outings he had with the big league club. I think many people are too hard on the guy.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
I have not given up on the kid, but he really hasn’t proven anything yet. Giese came in the game to relieve IPK of his duties, and he did a good job. Giese allowed one run over three innings of work, and struck out three batters.
Brackman and Melancon finished up the game, each pitching an inning, and they both put up a scoreless frame.
By the way...I didn’t get to see Kawakami pitch, but the box score shows that he did pretty well. Isn’t it odd that all these Japanese pitchers throw a ton of walks (Dice-K, Kei Igawa)?
The Yankees offense was having a down day, as the team only picked up five hits on the game. Dan Giese got some swings in today. He went 1-for-2 on the game, while picking up a run. He scored in the fifth inning on a triple by Johnny Damon.
