Rampage Takes On The Dean of Mean
In an already stacked Light Heavyweight division, two of the most exciting fighters will collide as Quinton “Rampage” Jackson takes on “The Dean of Mean” Keith Jardine in what may be Jackson's final test before a potential shot at the championship.
Jardine, known for his ability to take down legends, has beaten two former champions in Forest Griffin and Chuck Liddell.
He's shown everyone he can conquer extreme odds, by earning decision victories and TKOs.
His unorthodox style gives his opponents trouble. Jardine's proven he's a well-rounded fighter with his striking skills and well-developed leg kicks.
Jardine, part of a unique group of fighters under Greg Jackson, earned his black belt in a combination of Judo submissions, wrestling, and striking known as Gaidojutsu.
Jardine trains with top-caliber fighters such as Rashad Evans, George St-Pierre, and Nate Marquardt, whose combined winning percentage equals 81.
To say Jackson is an intense fighter would be an understatement. Rampage has a background in wrestling and uses it to his advantage with devastating slams that many of his opponents have fallen victim to.
Rampage has shown everyone that he has knockout power in both hands as he has knocked out Chuck Liddell with a right and avenged his two losses to Wanderlei Silva with an early knockout by way of a left hook.
Jackson can knock you out cold on your feet, or he can slam you and finish you on the ground.
Either way, when you step into the ring with Jackson you better be able to stop him before he stops you.
If Jardine plans to win this bout, he'll need to use more than just his leg kicks to weaken Jackson. He'll need to unleash his entire arsenal.
In the Griffin fight, we saw Jackson weak in the knees, literally. Griffin’s leg kicks were devastating. If Jardine utilizes his kicks properly, he will take a lot of the power out of Jackson’s punches, which will consequently save more time for Jardine to win the match either by decision or knockout.
This match will be a grueling stand up fight.
If Rampage feels overwhelmed by Jardines kicks, he will take it to the ground and power his way to victory.
Either way, I see Rampage coming out of this match with a TKO win.
But who am I to say that Jardine will not impress us again by taking down yet another MMA legend?
