QB Dilemma in Pittsburgh
The Pittsburgh Steelers have some decisions to make. Who do they want as their backup QB for Big Ben?
Lets start with Byron Leftwich. I have recently found out that Leftwich hasn't had any offers from rival clubs, which is surprising considering the number of teams looking for a new QB.
The 49ers have been talking to Kurt Warner, the Chiefs have just got Cassel, the Bronco's were supposedly trying to offload Cutler, I could go on with this but my point is i'm shocked that Leftwich hasn't been mentioned in all of this.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
There has been talks that Leftwich doesn't want to go anywhere and he is happy being a No. 2 quarterback behind Roethlisberger. That's all well and good, but I'm sure he could make a fine starting QB, and I think this is his best chance with all the QB vacancies at the moment.
If he really wants to stay in Pittsburgh well that's fine, but if he's 50-50 he should get out there now before these spots all fill up.
If Leftwich does decide to leave, Pittsburgh will most definitely re-sign Batch, but if Leftwich really wants to stay, and the Steelers re-sign him, then what of Batch.
He can retire after a 10-year career, seven with the Steelers, or he may be able to find a club interested in a backup.
This is how I see it happening. Byron Leftwich is going; I think the lure of being a starter will be too much. This will allow Pittsburgh to resign Batch and when he retires their 2008 5th round draft pick Dennis Dixon will be No. 2.
I think until then Dixon will have to be patient. This is obviously the outcome most people would think, but where does Leftwich go?
Jets: They need a starter after Favre decided to retire, Leftwich would do well in a team like the jets.
49ers: I'm pretty sure Warner is going to stay with Arizona, so San Francisco is an option.
Bears: There is a possibility for a shot in Chicago but they might scare him off. They don't have much patience when it comes to the QB position.
Lions: A bit of a long shot but an idea is Pittsburgh could trade Leftwich to Detroit for a draft pick or a position they're lacking some depth in. This would end the speculation on who the Lions will draft and would save Matt Stafford and Mark Sanchez to other QB lacking teams.
Broncos: This has about a 1% chance of happening. Jay Cutler is seriously disgruntled about the rumours that Denver were trying to trade him for Matt Cassel. If things can't be resolved you may see Cutler somewhere else and the Broncos may give Leftwich a call.
I don't like sitting on the fence so where does Byron Leftwich end up? I have absolutely no idea but my guess is...The New York Jets.
