Confused Cowboys: Big D Picks Up Lions Second String QB Jon Kitna
As the free agency bomb dropped this past Thursday, the NFC East seemed to be making big decisions with the players available at the market. For example, the Redskins made a good pick with Albert Haynesworth, making the biggest contract for a defensive end ever with a booming $100 million for seven years. The Giants, on the other hand, picked up former Cowboys defensive end Chris Canty. Though these two teams have seem to make a good deals in both, the Dallas Cowboys seem to be confused.
The Cowboys picked up quarterback Jon Kitna in a trade for starting cornerback Anthony Henry. NFL.com calls it "insurance" for the Cowboys. Personally, I believe that this was a trade bust for Dallas. In the last two years with the Lions, Kitna had a little over 4800 passing yards for a little under 700 attempts. Last year, he sat out the last 12 games with a back injury. He only threw for 758 yards.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Cowboys in recent years have made bad decisions, like picking up Terrell Owens. Let's just say he's a big problem just waiting to happen. Also, they picked up Pacman Jones, who was accused of being in a shooting recent years back. He came back after NFL Commissioner Rodger Goodell granted him the chance to play again. What does he do then? He gets himself into more trouble. Who's next? Michael Vick?
The troubling fact is that the Cowboys did not try at any point to get their hands on former New England Patriots backup quarterback Matt Cassel. Apparently, the Kansas City Cheifs gave their 34th overall draft pick for him and linebacker Mike Vrabel.
Kitna, a second string quarterback, was traded for a starter. A STARTER!
When whoever decided to make this deal got up that morning, it was a sure sign they did not eat their bowl of Smart Bran.
