Minnesota Vikings' Seven Round Mock Draft
Free agency begins this Friday, Feb. 27, so I've decided to create an entire seven round mock draft for the Vikings.
Although changes will be made soon that could affect who Minnesota takes in the draft, I have decided to do it anyway.
I will be updating this on Sunday, after two days of free agency. Stay tuned for that!
Round One: Percy Harvin, Wide Receiver, Florida

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Percy Harvin is a 20-year-old stud from the University of Florida. He had 1,303 combined yards, and 17 touchdowns!
Percy is also a threat in the return game. The Vikings lacked a true presence returning the ball last year. Perhaps Percy would be the guy to fix that.
Minnesota needs a true No. 2 receiver. Percy Harvin may have had a disappointing combine, but he should still be a first round pick. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.41 seconds.
Round Two: Alphonso Smith, Cornerback, Wake Forest
I finally realized that Minnesota's cornerbacks are pretty average. Antoine Winfield is a stud, but he is getting older. Cedric Griffin is very unreliable.
The Vikings need to improve the secondary. Alphonso Smith's stock is currently between the late first round and the late second round. He could be a steal at pick No. 54.
He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.56 seconds. Also, he played quarterback in high school. so he could be an emergency quarterback for the Vikings.
Round Three: Lydon Murtha, Offensive Tackle, Nebraska
Lydon Murtha's stock rose nearly a full round after his impressive combine. He ran the fastest combine of all offensive tackles. How does a 4.89 40-yard dash sound?
He also jumped 35 inches in the vertical leap. That got him second place, just behind Travis Bright.
Minnesota needs help at right tackle. Will a third round pick be the solution? Maybe not. Stranger things have happened though.
Round Four: Zack Follett, Outside Linebacker, California
Ben Leber is good, but could he be replaced? I really don't think so. Zack Follett had an impressive combine. The linebacker depth for the Vikings is very weak.
Zack ran a 4.75 40-yard dash. He also topped 37 inches in the vertical jump. The guy has impressive features.
Frankly, I think that getting him in the fourth round would be a steal. But remember, this pick could be going to the Texans if the Vikings trade for Sage Rosenfels.
Round Five: Sammie Lee Hill, Defensive End, Stillman
I'm going to make this relatively short and sweet. Sammie Lee Hill is a 330-pound monster from a little-known college called Stillman.
Pat Williams is 37 and will likely hang it up for good within the next year or two. Minnesota needs to look for his replacement very soon.
Round Seven (i): Brannan Southerland, Fullback, Georgia
Where we are at right now, the Vikings need a fullback. Both Thomas Tapeh and Naufahu Tahi failed miserably.
Brannan Southerland is a big and physical fullback, who ran a 4.65 40-yard at the combine.
The Vikings are looking for a fullback who can both block for Adrian Peterson and be a goal-line type runner.
Round Seven (ii): Terence Moore, Safety, Troy
Darren Sharper will likely be a Saint when free agency starts. This will leave a big gap at strong safety that Tyrell Johnson will likely fill.
Minnesota is weak at safety, so they must spend a draft pick on one. Terence Moore is a 6'2" hard-hitter from the University of Troy.
