Crosby May Be Out For Penguins 5 Game Road Trip
Penguin’s center and captain, Sidney Crosby, sat out Pittsburgh's game against the New York Islanders, because of a sore groin, and looked like he would be out for the team's up-coming five game road trip.
Crosby was injured Sunday in a 5-2 loss to Washington on Wednesday, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Crosby is listed as day-to-day and it is uncertain how many games he can play during Pittsburgh's five-game road trip that begins Friday in Chicago, according to CP.

The Penguins (29-26-6) are in 10th place in the Eastern Conference after reaching the Stanley Cup finals last season and need Crosby—listed as day-to-day—on the ice if they hope to reach the playoffs for the third straight year, according to USA Today.
Crosby is tied for second in the NHL in scoring with 79 points, eight behind teammate, Evgeni Malkin.
Shelly Anderson of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that Crosby left the morning skate today at Mellon Arena after eight minutes, a day after he practiced for just 15-minutes.
He has missed just one other game this season, Jan. 16 against Anaheim, because of illness.
The Penguins recalled Finnish forward, Janne Pesonon, from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, their affiliate team in the AHL.
He has no points in seven games with Pittsburgh this season, but is second in scoring with the Baby Penguins with 49-points.
