Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
All I have to say about this pick is...WOW. I never thought that Chargers fans would take Delmas with that pick. He was simply a throw in, due to the fact that they have a minor need at strong safety. In my opinion, that is too high for Delmas. But since the Chargers don't have a second round pick, I could possibly see them trading down to get him.
Still, we move back east where the New York Jets are under new control. Former Baltimore Ravens Defensive Coordinator Rex Ryan was hired as the team's new head coach after the Jets saw an 8-3 start disintegrate, and missed the playoffs.
Now that the Jets have moved on from their Brett Favre affair, it is time to look forward to the future. This team has a great offensive line, and a superstar cornerback in Darrelle Revis to build the team around. Here are my thoughts on the Jets' top needs heading into draft day.
- Cornerback
- Wide Receiver
- Quarterback
- Defensive End
- Guard
You make the call Jets fans! Vote in the poll for the player you think the Jets should take with the 17th overall pick in this year's draft!
1. Matthew Stafford; Quarterback, Georgia
To be honest, Stafford really has no chance of falling this far. However, the Jets probably would not mind it at all. Now that Brett Favre is gone, the team can finally move on and take its quarterback of the future. I don't think Kellen Clemens is that guy, otherwise he probably would already be playing.
2. Mark Sanchez; Quarterback, USC
Again, Sanchez probably has no business falling this far, but this actually is a realistic situation. In many mock drafts, Sanchez has gone to the Jets and I see the reason why when I watch his film. He is a great pro-style quarterback, with enormous potential at the next level.
3. D.J. Moore; Cornerback, Vanderbilt
Like I said, Darrelle Revis is an elite cornerback, but after that the team has little depth. Dwight Lowery made some great plays last season, but he is probably better suited to be a nickel defensive back. Moore is an elite, cornerback prospect who has played offense in college, so he has excellent ball skills.
4. Duke Robinson; Guard, Oklahoma
Brandon Moore did not work out as a free-agent acquisition, and the team subsequently released him. Duke Robinson is absolutely huge, and would be a great compliment on the inside for the Jets. He is a dominant linemen whose draft position will probably not indicate the true talent he has, much like former OU guard Davin Joseph.
5. Tyson Jackson; Defensive End, LSU
The Jets could be in the market for another defensive end this offseason. While Jackson is not of the hybrid style that last year's first round pick Vernon Gholston was, he is still a very servicable end. He is a run-stuffer, and last year the Jets were one of the better teams against the run.
6. Darrius Heyward-Bey; Wide Receiver, Maryland
Heyward-Bey really wowed me at the NFL's scouting combine. He ran a blazing 4.30 second 40-yard dash, and showed great ability to catch the ball. The Jets need a bona-fide playmaker at the receiver spot, and that is exactly what Heyward-Bey is.
There you have it Jets fans! Make your pick in the poll for the player you think the Jets should select at No. 17 overall!
