PGA Championship 2012: Keegan Bradley and 7 Golfers to Watch on Kiawah Island

David LevinJun 4, 2018

Oh, the South rises again.

The Masters was in Augusta and the PGA last year was in Atlanta. Now, it's time for South Carolina to get in on some of the fun.

Kiawah Island will host the PGA amid all its beauty.

Who might surprise us this year?

After a stunning finish between Keegan Bradley and Jason Dufner last year in a playoff, could we see more of the same?

Could this be another drama-filled final day?

Could we see an unknown take him the title?

Here are some players to watch and see what happens.

Adam Scott

1 of 7

Aren't we all waiting to see what happens to him after losing The Open Championship?

Scott could be out for redemption and out to claim his first major. Finally.

Will the mental strain of losing such a large lead creep back into his mind? Can he keep his composure down the stretch?

Will he finally take his place amongst the best today?

Phil Mickelson

We want the Phil of old.

You know, the one who smiles, makes major putts and wins major tournaments.

What has happened to him?

Can Kiawah help rejuvenate his game? Can the 40-something challenge the young guns and that guy named Tiger?

This weekend, we all shall see.

Keegan Bradley

I watch him and think of the boy next door.

If he can do it, so can I and every weekend hacker there is.

But there is something to his game. And he could make it two in a row in PGA Championships.

The fact that he won last weekend gives him all the momentum he needs to capture another major title and further place him among the best in the world today.

Rory McIlroy

You knew at some point I would get to him.

Rory hasn't been a factor in a major since winning the U.S. Open last year.

And while he is still amongst the best in the world, he could use a strong showing here.

The course could be to his liking, and there is plenty of course to shoot at.

Could make for a very interesting weekend.

Matt Kuchar

He is my pick to win this week.

The St. Simons Island native and Players Championship winner could add his name to the list of young golfers ready to take the next step.

He is a consistent player and has been all season. I just think this is a tournament where he could catch lightning and run away from the field.

Lee Westwood

6 of 7

It seems we always talk about him in a major.

He hasn't won one yet.

Westwood always seems to come up short, whether it is the putting that lets him down or conditions or something else.

Could everything play just right for him at Kiawah?

Luke Donald

7 of 7

The top ranked golfer in the world does not have a major title to add to his resume.

Will this be the one?

We have been asking that for some time, and although Donald is one of the more consistent players on the tour, a win in one of the big four would cement his claim to being the best in the world.
