How Important It Is for Wrestlers to Always Be in Character
Staying in character as a wrestler is one of the greatest things you can do to be considered credible in the wrestling world. There are several times kids at shows found out, hey "Eugene isn't really dumb?" or "Rey Mysterio is not mask-less?"
Well, this true story I share shows that wrestlers can be actors as well.
The story takes place about three years ago. I was at a WWE Smackdown! house show in North Charleston, South Carolina. Its tradition here where we all show up to the building early to try and hit up some wrestlers and talk. Its very common here as I am sure elsewhere. But the story gets interesting.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
After Christian already went out of his way to meet and talk with the fans (with a broken nose from a Booker T spin kick) Smackdowns hottest tag team shows up. Its MNM. Joey Mercury, Johnny Nitro, and Melina get out of their cars.
Fans wave them down, but they decide to go into the building. They play the crowd, and just leave. So we all yell and boo them as we should right? Well this is where it picks up.
About twenty minutes later, MNM come back out. They play the crowd very gently. Playing a babyface role. Johnny Nitro precedes on asking a little girl in the front row of the barricade "Hey honey, what's your name?"
She answers Johnny. He then asks "Would you like an autograph?" The little girl smiles, and says "yes" with the happiest look on her face ever.
She hands Johnny Nitro her marker and with the uttermost joy in his heart.....
He throws the marker across the parking lot.
And with a smile on his face he just simply says "Go fetch" as he walks away. As mad as I was at the time, I realized days later, as many WWE superstars insist on blowing off fans, they totally went out of their way to blow off the fans, and that was the day Johnny Nitro showed me how much he truly cares about the WWE fans.
And years later I would park next to him in a parking lot, and get a "verbal" autograph because I wasn't "cool" enough to get an actual autograph. Thanks John Morrison!
