Medal Predictions

Gold – United States

The U.S. is going to have to deal with a shocked and disappointed Jordyn Wieber. Wieber failed to qualify for the individual all-around finals and that is a shame, as she is arguably the best overall gymnast in the entire world.

She’s going to have to get over that tough defeat and perform her best in order help the Americans win gold on Monday.

Silver – Russia

As long as Viktoria Komova and Aliya Mustafina are competing, you can never count the Russians out.

Both of these women are excellent gymnasts and should put the rest of the countries on their backs. They were extremely poised during qualification and should have no problem pulling off some of the same routines in the finals.

Bronze – China

China had a sloppy qualification round, but everyone starts with the same score on the same footing in the finals.

Unfortunately for the Chinese, they just looked a bit too rough around the edges and it’s unlikely that they will be able to muster better than a respectable third-place finish during the 2012 London Olympic Games.
