Alvin Kamara: Does Alabama or Georgia Have Best Shot of 4-Star's Top 6 Choices?
Alvin Kamara announced his top six schools Wednesday afternoon, and both Alabama and Georgia are among them.
Kamara texted ESPN's Dawg Nation that he's narrowed his schools down to Tennessee, Oklahoma State, Florida State and Oregon, along with the two SEC schools.
And for those hoping to hear a decision out of the 4-star running back, well, it most likely isn't coming until Kamara's season is underway.
“And I am not sure when I’ll be making a decision,” Kamara said. “I’ll probably wait a few games into the season just to see how things are playing out and then decide.”
So bring on the speculation. The two schools that are likely to have an inside track would be the Crimson Tide, because they always do when it comes to Nick Saban recruiting, and Georgia, because Kamara plays high school football in Norcross, GA.
That means Kamara would be but an hour away from home rather than three or four hours away in Tuscaloosa, AL. Not only do the Bulldogs have location on the Crimson Tide, but Georgia made quite an impression on Kamara during Dawg Night.
After attending the annual event, Kamara said, “my interest in Georgia has increased.”
Alabama already has 4-star running backs Altee Tenpenny and Tyren Jones committed, as well as 4-star Derrick Green considering them, whereas Georgia has no commitments from any running backs thus far.
The thought of sharing the backfield in 2013 with a running back like Keith Marshall certainly has to add a nice incentive, as well.
Taking all of this into consideration, Georgia might own a slight edge over Alabama. Though it may be too early to tell, the Bulldogs might have the best shot of the two elite SEC programs in recruiting Kamara.
