Liverpool Transfer News: Reds Should Sell Andy Carroll Back to Newcastle
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers would be wise to sell striker Andy Carroll to his previous Premier League team, Newcastle, before the start of the 2012-13 season.
According to the BBC, Newcastle are interested in bringing Carroll back.

Liverpool, however, wasn't willing to accept their offer for the 23-year-old Englishman, according to Sky Sports.

Carroll isn't the right striker for Liverpool. He's been given more than a season to prove he can be a world-class player and has failed to deliver. He wasn't ready to be the No. 1 striker on a team with high expectations like Liverpool when he arrived to Anfield in 2010, and still isn't the right man.
He is best suited with Newcastle, who are a team that have high expectations, too. Newcastle, though, aren't under the same pressure to win trophies as a club like Liverpool.
Newcastle is a more comfortable situation for Carroll, and he would be the perfect player for the club's pursuit of Champions League qualification next season.
With the amount of money that Liverpool would earn from selling Carroll, Rodgers could target another player, preferably another striker, that could strengthen the squad for the future.
Liverpool tried to be bold in January of 2010 by purchasing Carroll from Newcastle for an overpriced transfer fee after losing star Fernando Torres to Chelsea, but it hasn't worked out. At some point, you have to cut your losses and move on.
