Barao shut Faber down. It is as simple as that. It was not the most exciting and action-packed championship fight but Barao did what he set out to do. After watching the performance tonight I am unsure if he can do the same to a much faster Dominick Cruz. That is, if he returns from his ACL surgery the same fighter. It was an impressive performance in what he was able to accomplish, but it was not endearing to the crowd.

Boetsch defeats Lombard via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28).

A disappointing fight and debut from Lombard. No other way to put it. He stood flat footed, plodded forward and had low output. Boetsch respected his power and Judo enough to rarely engage and stay on the outside. His gameplan won the fight, but it did not win any fans.

A confusing performance by Ebersole, and Head was able to do enough to pick up the win. Shoddy takedown attempts allowed Head to easily defend, and he connected with several clean strikes throughout the fight. The fight will not win any awards. The judge who scored it for Ebersole needs a lashing.

Three rounds of the same action. Thankfully, it was 15 minutes of solid action. Ring's straight left was the weapon of the fight. The decision was questionable as McGee was constantly moving forward in all three rounds and finishing much stronger.
