Wrestlemania III
Rowdy Roddy Piper vs. Adrian Adonis—Hair vs. Hair Match
This match was billed as Piper's "retirement" match. "Win, lose, or draw" Piper declared he was retiring and to add some interest to this particular match, the loser would get a haircut.
Piper took Adonis out with the Sleeper Hold and Brutus Beefcake who earlier in the night ended his association with the Dream Team came down to help Piper with the haircut and cement his own character development by becoming Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake. Following Piper's win, a fan came out of the stands to dance with Hot Rod.
Wrestlemania XII
Iron Man Match For The WWE Championship
Bret "Hitman" Hart (c) vs "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels
We knew from the start that it would be the longest match of the night at 60 minutes, but what we did not know is that the match would be thrown into Sudden Death overtime where Shawn Michaels would capture the WWE Championship for the first time.
Add to the excitement of the match that Shawn entered the ring from the top of "The Pond" on a zip cord and was also managed by Jose Lothario and this was one of my greatest memories of Wrestlemania.
Wrestlemania XIII, Wrestlemania XXIII and Wrestlemania XXIV—The Undertaker Captures The Gold
The only thing better than seeing the Undertaker continue his undefeated streak at Wrestlemania is seeing The Undertaker win the World Title at Wrestlemania. The Undertaker has won a world title at three different Wrestlemania events—13, 23 and 24.
At Wrestlemania XIII, The Undertaker defeated Psycho Sid in a "No Count out, No Disqualification Match" to win his second WWE Championship where it was announced "The Title Has Come Back To The Dark side."
At Wrestlemania XXIII, The Undertaker defeated Batista by pinfall to win the World Heavyweight Championship. This would mark The Undertaker's first World Heavyweight Championship and his fifth World title over all.
At Wrestlemania XXIV in Orlando, The Undertaker defeated Edge via submission to become the World Heavyweight Champion for the second time and his sixth World Title reign
Wrestlemania VI
Title For Title—WWE Champion Hulk Hogan vs WWE IC Champion The Ultimate Warrior
To me this was a classic match, especially now that we know that a young Adam Copeland was in attendance that night.
In those days there really were no dirt sheets and I didn't know that Hulk Hogan would be dropping the title to the Ultimate Warrior, but what a match it was.
Back and forth for 22 minutes and 51 seconds to come down to Warrior moving out of the way when Hogan went for the leg drop, hitting a splash and getting the three count just a split second before Hogan could kick out.
But Hogan's actions of handing Warrior the title and showing him respect still meant that Hogan left as a celebrated champion and Hulkamania will indeed live forever
It also marked the first time that one man held both the WWE title and IC title at the same time.
Wrestlemania III—WWE Championship Hulk Hogan vs Andre The Giant
On the night when a new indoor attendance record was broken, the colossal Andre The Giant told Hogan "tonight you go up." Andre's health was already failing, but he still went out their like a true giant and put on a great main event.
This match was huge and went down as the greatest match in Wrestlemania History. It was so big that Vince required everyone to be out on the floor for it and told people if they didn't walk out on the floor for this match to keep on walking home.
Two best friends. Andre was there to celebrate with Hogan when he first won the title and Andre was there being Hogan's friend all along the way. Andre turned on Hogan during Piper's Pit much to the dismay and shock of the Hulkster.
I really believed that night that Hogan's title reign was in jeopardy, but in true Hulkamania fashion, Hulk battled back, overcame the odds and with the slam heard around the world put Andre down on the mat for the three count.
How ironic when I go back and watch the video of this match that it really looks like referee Joey Marella's hand hits the three early in the match with Andre on top of Hogan, but it simply was not to be.
This match really celebrated the legacy of Hulkamania and WWE will have to plan long and hard to top this, my favorite Wrestlemania memory of all time.
