Texas A&M Football: Grading Aggies New SEC Uniforms for 2012 Season
Much like every team in college football lately, the Texas A&M Aggies have decided to throw tradition out the window and switch up the uniforms a little bit. They were released today for the public to judge and, of course, will draw mixed reactions like so many of these uniforms do nowadays.
The Aggies have left the Big 12 and are entering their first season in the SEC. These uniform changes should instill confidence in the players, and many programs even use it as a recruiting tool. Whether it helps the team play better on the field is still up for debate.
Here are the new uniforms that the Aggies will wear during the 2012 college football season.
Color
1 of 5The color scheme is exactly the same as it has always been—maroon and white. While I am not a fan of the two colors, at least the Aggies decided to stick to tradition here and not get all crazy on us like so many other programs have decided to do. Color-wise, there really aren't many changes.

Wow Factor
2 of 5I would say the biggest wow factor comes from the fact that there simply isn't much of a change. That, and the shock of Adidas actually putting together a decent-looking uniform. We have seen so many hideous styles that every time the idea of a uniform comes up, we cringe. This is actually a nice-looking style.

Tradition
3 of 5As mentioned in the previous slide, the Aggies really stuck with tradition here. The maroon and white are still there and the Aggies went back to the more traditional logo. The sleeves will have the words "12th Man" on the side and there will be white stripes on the shoulders. The face mask is about the only thing that switched colors; instead of the traditional white, it will be gray.

Gloves
4 of 5Probably the best part of any new uniform is the gloves, and this one is no different. The outline of the state of Texas around the school's logo is a great look. Putting the logo of the school across the palms and fingers of the gloves is a popular trend right now. I personally think it is an awesome look, even though we don't really get a chance to see them when the game is being played.

Overall
5 of 5Overall, there really isn't much not to like about the switch. Texas A&M stuck to tradition, going with a more modern look while sticking to the basics as well. It features the same simple combination of maroon and white, but adds a few things to the sleeves and shoulders and gives the players cooler-looking helmets and gloves. Overall, the changes are very minimal, but with the past uniforms we have seen, I'm sure Aggie fans will accept them.
