WWE No Way Out
To start, I must say that this was one of the better pay-per-views WWE has put on in the past couple years. It had a lot of surprises, especially concerning the World Heavyweight Title.
First match: SD Elimination Chamber
Hardy and Edge started and at about 4:30, Jeff rolled Edge up on a missed spear for the pin. Kozlov entered next and worked over Hardy. Big Show came next—both him and Kozlov double-teamed Hardy for a while until Kozlov hit the battering ram headbutt to Show.
Triple H in next where he cleared house, and Taker in last.
One sick bump saw Taker reverse a Big Show chokeslam into a spike DDT on the metal floor of the chamber. Taker eliminates Kozlov with the last ride, Hunter eliminates Kozlov after Jeff swantoned him, and Taker eliminates Jeff after the tombstone.
Hunter and Taker fought for a bit with some close near falls, but a pedigree after a missed last ride won the match.
This was a very predictable match after Edge was eliminated, as Hunter has been without a title for three months now, and his daddy felt he needed to be more over with the fans.
Yes, as you can tell, I am not a Triple H fan in the least, and do not agree with this Ric Flair-like treatment he gets with the major titles.
Other than that, this was an amazing opener, and all six men should be proud of the amazing efforts they put on. Props to Big Show for a couple of the sick bumps he took.
Second match: RKO vs Shane-O
Early on, Shane split Orton's head open with the monitor, and then set him up on the SD announce table for a leap of faith. Legacy intervenes, and Shane DDTs Dibiase onto a chair, then hits a great coast-to-coast on Rhodes. Shane missed Orton with the leap of faith and Orton was able to gain control for a bit until Shane went ape-shit on Orton with a singapore cane and chair, and was about to hit the punt, but Orton leaped up and hit an amazing RKO for the win.
This was a great match, and exceeded my expectations. Shane hasn't worked in a while, but he appeared to have put all he had into this one. The crowd was more for Orton, and popped big when he hit the RKO. Orton was legitamately bleeding throughout the whole match, and he did receive stitches backstage. The storyline with Shane is that he was drifting in and out of consciousness.
Third: ECW Title match
Swagger entered to a silent reaction, and Finlay entered to a small pop. There is not much to say about this match, as it was by far the least entertaining of the night. The crowd could've cared less, and only popped when Hornswoggle came out from hiding. He was bounced to ringside by Finlay after a Swagger push though. Immediately following that, Swagger hit the big boot then the gutwrench powerbomb for the win.
Like I said—throwaway match. There were very loud "We Want Christian" chants throughout the match, and once they realized he wasn't coming, the crowd died. I didn't necessarily hate the match, but I felt it really didn't matter since the theme of this pay-per-view seems to be The Chambers, I'm sure people will disagree with me though.
Fourth: JBL vs Michaels
JBL entered first and talked trash to Rebecca Michaels sitting at ringside with a bunch of rowdy fans. JBL heeled it up by chirping her for a bit, until Shawn entered. The first few minutes were even, but then each man taking their turn working the other over. Michaels would hit a few inverted atomic drops, JBL would hit a few elbow drops, etc. Finish came when Rebecca slapped JBL in the face, Shawn bought him back in the ring, hit the scoop slam, diving elbow, and the superkick. Crowd popped huge for the win, and Michaels (as per stipulation), was released from his contract with JBL. Shawn and Rebecca walked to the back together, posing for the crowd on the ramp.
This was an excellent match from two aging superstars. Both guys put their all into the match, and it showed. The crowd was 100 percent behind Michaels, and they weren't disappointed. I was a bit optimistic heading in, but JBL put on a great performance as the dominating heel, and really put over Michaels as a guy desperate to get out of this personal hell of his.
Final match: Raw Elimination Chamber
Cena out first, playing to the crowd. Then Knox, then Kane, the Kofi. Interesting to note, Kofi was attacked by Edge, who took his place in the match. Mysterio and Jericho enter as the last two, therefore they start. Good action to start.
Kane in next, but was eliminated by Rey in about four minutes with a Droppin Da Dime from the top of the pod. Knox in next where he dominated both other guys. As he was setting up for the Knox Out, Jericho hit the Codebreaker, thus eliminating him.
Edge in next and was beat up by Rey for a while. Cena in last to a heel/face reaction. He was the next eliminated as Jericho hit the Codebreaker, then Rey the 619, followed by a Spear to eliminate Cena. Edge's expression was priceless. Jericho was the next to go courtesy of Mysterio in a cool spot. Rey went for the hurricanrana, but Jericho countered into the Walls, which Rey rolled through. Awesome to watch. The finish came after Rey caused three or four near falls on Edge, and by that time, he really had the crowd going with 619 and Mysterio chants.
Finish came when Edge threw him through the pod, and speared him back in the ring. Edge is the new World Champion.
Wow, amazing finish to a great match. Not as good as the Smackdown, but it was still very entertaining to watch. Cena received more boos than normal, which didn't bother me, as I am anti-Cena.
Edge winning the World Title (his eighth major title reign now) was a great twist, and I personally cannot wait to see how Raw and SD play out until WrestleMania with both major titles on Smackdown. There are seven more weeks until WrestleMania, and I cannot wait for the builpup they provide us with over the next 49 days.
