Maple Leafs-Penguins: Toronto Matches Up Well with Pittsburgh
If you follow sports on the web with a interest in NHL hockey, you will know that the Toronto Maple Leafs thoroughly thrashed a troubled Pittsburgh Penguins team last night at the Air Canada Center.
The Leafs seem to give the Penguins fits in their own end, due mainly to Pittsburgh’s inability to move the puck out of their own zone efficiently and get it to their talented stars at forward.
Thomas Kaberle would be a good fit for Pittsburgh and Jordan Staal would look good in a Leafs jersey. Staal would also get out from under the Crosby/ Malkin shadow.

Vesa Toskala settled in and played well after a shaky start—but to be honest the Leafs had the puck most of the night after the first ten minutes of the game. Jason Blake had a hot hand again last night and fueled the turning point in the game.
With the Leafs trailing 2-1 at the beginning of the second period, Blake got two goals in a span of about one and a half minutes to swing the game in the Leafs' favor. After that, the Penguins looked like the proverbial "deer in the headlights," and spent the rest of the night chasing but not catching the Leafs puck carriers, eventually losing the contest 6-2.
The Penguins are a team with little direction right now and if Crosby or Malkin don`t score the Pens have little chance of winning. They are on the outside looking in on the spring dance and Allsports can't see them getting an invitation either.
There was some sports news noise on the web about a trade between these two clubs. The princibles being Kaberle to the Penquins and Jordan Staal to the Leafs. After watching the Penquins' lack of puck movement out of their zone last night a defenseman such as Kaberle would fill a huge void in their roster. The Leafs in turn would get the young first-line center they covet.
As Larry the cable guy would say, "Get 'er done," Mr Burke.
