Erin Andrews Signs with FOX, Jenn Brown Should Take Her Role at ESPN

David DanielsJun 7, 2018

Erin Andrews has officially spurned ESPN to work with Fox Sports.

Losing perhaps the biggest name in sideline reporting is a blow to the powerhouse network that is the Worldwide Leader. But ESPN has a qualified replacement in Jenn Brown that would numb the pain from losing such a household name.

Michael Hiestand of USA Today reported that Andrews will host Fox’s new Saturday prime-time college football program that hopes to rival ESPN. On top of that, she’ll work with their MLB and NFL coverage teams.

Now, what’s a major factor in the fact that Andrews is such a massive name in the world of sports? She is an extremely attractive female. The demographic of sports audiences are majority male—blame genetics; that’s just how it works.

But that doesn’t mean Andrews’ looks are the lone reason behind her success—not even close, and suggesting so is flat-out ignorant. She is as professional as they come, and ESPN won’t be able to just replace her with another pretty face. While Jenn Brown is a model, like Andrews, there’s more to Brown’s success as a sports reporter than her appearance.

Brown is a 31-year-old veteran that has been a reporter for a half a decade. She was a special correspondent on Showtime’s Inside the NFL that won an Emmy in 2008. Her resume in terms of a host is endless and features stints on CBS, CMT and E!.

What sets Brown apart, though, from other candidates is that she knows more about sports than you. No, I don’t just mean that she does her research—she’s an athlete.

According to Brian de Los Santos of the Orlando Sentinel, Brown played an insane seven different sports in high school and graduated with a whopping 14 varsity letters. She went on to play softball for the University of Florida, be voted as a team captain and graduate fifth on the team’s all-time stolen base list.

Again, Brown isn’t just a pretty face—she knows sports like the back of her hand and is the perfect replacement for Andrews.
