When healthy, Staal has been a solid player in Pittsburgh, but he's often stuck on the third line when Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin are both in the lineup. Staal is a dependable two-way player with untapped potential.
If Staal were to be traded away and become a first-line player where he averages at least 18 minutes a night, there is a good chance he would transform from a 50-point player to a 65-to-75-point player. There is certainly going to be tons of interest in Staal if Pittsburgh decides to trade him this summer.
With Bobby Ryan, Rick Nash and now Jordan Staal on the market, tomorrow's NHL draft and the rumors that usually accompany it just got really interesting.
