Euro 2012: Goal-Scorers Who Will Fail to Produce
Euro 2012 has just two more days left of group play before the knockout stage begins. There have been a number of great goals scored throughout the tournament by some of the world’s best players.
It will be interesting to see if some of these phenomenal scorers are able to get going or keep their form throughout the rest of Euro.
Let’s take a look at some who will likely fail to impress from here on out.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Sweden
Against Ukraine, Ibrahimovic scored a brilliant goal to put his team up 1-0, but the host nation answered back with two quick strikes of its own and won the match.
He was unable to find the back of the net against England, resulting in a 2-3 loss for the side and a guaranteed elimination from the tournament after the upcoming match against France.
Considering Zlatan was doing his all in a must-win game against the Three Lions and could not score, it is unlikely he gets anything done against the French.
Rooney is returning from suspension today in time to take on Ukraine. He’s been the talk of the tournament for England and it seems the camera is always panning to get a reactionary shot from him in the stands.
It’s going to be tough for him to shake off the rust and live up to the huge expectations that fans have for him in this event.
With the emergence of Theo Walcott, Rooney should be content to defer and work his way back into form rather than rushing it.
Torres had not scored any meaningful goals for Spain since Euro 2008, until he netted two against the Irish in his last game.
Now that he’s put that pair away, it’s unlikely he’s going to keep that pace up.
While the Chelsea striker may end up beating the keeper in another match during the tourney, it likely won’t come right away in Spain's showdown with Croatia today.
