Tiger Woods: Scores and Twitter Reaction for Final Round at U.S. Open
Tiger Woods is looking to make a run in the final round of the 2012 U.S. Open after losing his share of the lead on Saturday.
Woods was tied atop the field after 36 holes but turned in an abysmal third-round score of 75 to fall to four over par.
He's under way at the Olympic Club and will need a huge round if he wants to win his 15th major championship.
Here are the best tweets from Tiger's round on Sunday.
This is not the stat that Tiger would want to hear from ESPN Stats & Info:
"Tiger Woods enters today tied for 14th at U.S. Open. He's never won a major without at least a share of the lead entering the final round.

This golf fan offered his insight following Woods' first-hole bogey:
"Tiger Woods just caused 5 million people to not watch NBC for the rest of the day #nicestart
— John Albright (@johnalbright) June 17, 2012"
Woods got off to a disheartening start, bogeying the first two holes before turning in a brutal double-bogey on the third. The PGA Tour account noted the futility on his chip shot from the rough:
"It's a bogey-bogey-double bogey start for Tiger Woods (+8), who missed the third green and botched his ensuing chip shot. #USOpen
— PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) June 17, 2012"
The fake SportsCenter account noted Tiger's struggles after he bookended two bogeys on five and six with pars on four and seven:
"At the rate Tiger Woods is going, even Josh Beckett's going to finish ahead him #USOpen
— NOT SportsCenter (@NOTSportsCenter) June 17, 2012"
The Golf Channel's Gary Williams reminds us all that 17-year-old Beau Hossler is well ahead of Tiger:
"Kid with an orthodontist appointment Tuesday is 5 clear of Tiger Woods, Sunday at Open.I'll be back, gonna take a spin on my flying monkey.
— Gary Williams (@garywilliamsGC) June 17, 2012"
It's been that kind of day for Woods. He wasn't happy even after his birdie on eight to get to nine over for the tournament, and the Orlando Sentinel's Jeff Shain noticed it:
"First birdie for Tiger Woods - about 18ft away at No.8, produces a "yeah, whatever" wave from TW.
— Jeff Shain (@JeffShain) June 17, 2012"
TSN analyst Bob Weeks reminded us that NBC didn't keep Tiger Woods in the radar after his rough start. Tiger has posted five straight pars from nine to 13 to remain at nine over for the tournament.
"This may be the longest NBC has ever gone without showing Tiger Woods in a US Open. Even the year he missed the cut.
— Bob Weeks (@Bobatscoregolf) June 17, 2012"
ESPN's David Newton touched on the backwardness of today's sports:
"Who would have thought, #Tiger Woods choking in the final round and #DaleJr dominating to win a race. #nascar #pga
— David Newton(@DNewtonespn) June 17, 2012"
One of the small bright spots for Woods today came on the 14th hole to bring him to eight over for the tournament and four over for the day:
"Tiger Woods just made birdie on #14.Bless him.
— Kenny Hassan (@KennyWFDLive) June 18, 2012"
The Golf Channel's Jay Coffin reminded us of Tiger's perseverance. Too bad you don't get an "A" for effort at the U.S. Open:
"After a birdie on 17, Tiger Woods is now 3 under over his last 10 holes. He's 3 over for the day and tied for 21st. He didn't give up.
— Jay Coffin (@JayCoffinGC) June 18, 2012"
Tiger did not deliver today like we thought he would, as noted by NBC Sports:
"At even par, Jim Furyk leads the US Open by 1 shot through 12 holes. Tiger Woods finishes at 7-over 287. Scores: bit.ly/La30U9
