Tiger Woods: Latest Reaction to Day 2 at the US Open
Tiger Woods will go into the third round of the 2012 U.S. Open with a share of the lead at one-under par along with Jim Furyk and David Toms.
Woods took the lead on hole three with a birdie, then struggled a bit when he bogeyed three straight times on holes five through seven before climbing back to even for the day.
It was a spectacular performance that led many people to believe that Woods is truly back and once again a major force in golf.
Jason Sobel of the Golf Channel is certainly impressed with Woods at the moment.
"Tiger Woods looks like he's finally "back." Quite an absence, too. He hadn't held the lead at a tournament in 12 whole days.

One of the more impressive parts about Woods' second-round performance was his ability to shake off the bogeys he made and climb back up the leaderboard.
The Tiger of the past few years probably wouldn't have had the strength to put those mistakes behind him. On Friday, Woods showed the mental strength that has made him one of the best golfers in history.
The third round will be the most important for Woods because if he plays well, the rest of the field will fear that the Tiger who won 14 majors is back. A bad third round will make his path to the title much more difficult and probably prevent him from winning his 15th major championship.
We will learn a lot about Tiger Woods' journey back to the top of golf by watching how he plays on Saturday and how he handles the pressure with the world watching.
