Euro 2012 Schedule: Pressure-Packed Matches Sure to Be Thrillers
It's crunch time in the group stage of Euro 2012. After long qualifying campaigns and two hard-fought matches in the current round, teams will head into their final group games knowing exactly what needs to happen for them to advance.
That's a lot of pressure for every player on the pitch. The ones who thrive will help their squads move on to the knockout stage while those who crumble are destined for an early exit. With that in mind, let's take a look at some of the most intriguing clashes on the horizon.
Czech Republic vs. Poland

After getting trounced by Russia in its opener, Czech Republic bounced back with a well-rounded performance to earn all three points against Greece. The victory featured a terrific start with two goals in six minutes and put the Narodak in control of their destiny.
They will face off with a Poland squad that was able to earn a draw against Russia thanks to a goal from captain Jakub Blaszczykowski. The underdogs were actually the more dangerous team throughout the match and should enter the group finale with plenty of confidence.
Assuming the Russians take care of business against Greece, there's only one spot available for these two sides. Czech Republic would only need a draw to advance, so look for a very conservative approach that has the potential to backfire.
Portugal vs. Netherlands
Cristiano Ronaldo was just a couple minutes away from being the most criticized man in Europe before Silvestre Varela bailed out the under-performing superstar against Denmark. Now Portugal is back in the driver's seat to advance.
Things aren't looking as promising for the Netherlands. The Oranje have plenty of talent on the roster and were one of the most popular picks heading into the tournament, but it hasn't translated into success with consecutive one-goal losses.
They do have an outside chance to advance, which makes them extremely dangerous in the final match since they have nothing to lose. Portugal must play a smart, disciplined game and get a better showing from Ronaldo to move on.
Croatia vs. Spain
Mario Mandzukic has been one of the best players in Euro 2012, yet he isn't getting much attention. The Croatian star worked some more magic against Italy, scoring a goal with less than 20 minutes left to earn a draw. That means the Vatreni are now on pace to advance.
It won't be easy, though. Defending champion Spain still hasn't secured a spot in the next round, which means the powerhouse squad won't be taking it easy against Croatia. La Roja is also in good form after an easy win over Ireland.
The best thing the Vatreni can do is treat it like any other game. If they try to play outside of their comfort zone to keep up with the talented Spanish midfielders, it won't take long for them to get exposed. The finish to Group C will certainly provide plenty of drama.
