Big Ten Football Top 150 Players: No. 113, Seung Hoon Choi, Nebraska OG
No. 113, Seung Hoon Choi, #77, OG
2011 Stats: 11 games, five starts
Strengths
It's easy to see a former walk-on who's "only" 6'2" and 290 pounds and think that man is lacking in physical ability to play guard. Do not make that error with Choi. He's one of the strongest linemen on the entire Nebraska team, and those are 290 "good" pounds after he lost a good deal of weight developing as a lineman. He's an absolute road-grader and should factor into Nebraska's plans at guard.
Weaknesses
Choi isn't exactly polished yet, and without great technique even the strongest linemen can find themselves reaching or off-balance at times. Nebraska's the right place to go for that, and here he's improving rapidly. His ability to move in space and get to the next level isn't exemplary either, and that's critical to springing big gains in Nebraska's option attack.
2012 Prediction
Choi was embroiled in a position battle with former five-star prospect Andrew Rodriguez for the starting role at guard in 2011, with Choi picking up the starting role for the last four games after a Rodriguez foot injury. Choi did well enough at it that even with a strong spring under his belt, Choi is the likely starter at left guard while the 6'6" Rodriguez is more likely to make a push at tackle.
If that's the case and Choi is set at left guard, he should have a solid senior campaign and be integral to Nebraska's interior rushing game.
