Pacquiao vs. Bradley Undercard: Last-Minute Odds and Predictions
Manny Pacquiao vs. Timothy Bradley is one of this year's biggest boxing events. And Pacquiao and Bradley are guaranteed to give a thriller with their come-forward styles.
The three televised supporting fights on the HBO pay-per-view undercard appear interesting enough to guarantee a buyer's satisfaction.
What's not guaranteed are the winners.
If you're looking to make some funds while enjoying the fun, here's a look at the betting odds for the main event and undercard, courtesy of Odds Shark, Odds Checker and Check Your Odds.
Opening Fight: Guillermo Rigondeux vs. Teon Kennedy
1 of 4Guillermo Rigondeaux (9-0, 7 KO) is heavily favored to destroy Teon Kennedy (17-1-2, 7 KO). Another in a long line of Cuban defectors, Rigondeaux is considered one of the greatest amateur boxers of all time with over 400 fights under his belt.
The odds of Rigondeaux winning are at 1/14 according to Odds Checker and minus-1610 according to Odds Shark.
That means it'll take hundreds upon hundreds of dollars of betting on Rigondeaux just to make $100, and anyone who bets on Kennedy better know something on the inside.
Otherwise, you're throwing your money away.
Jorge Arce vs. Jesus Rojas
2 of 4After a junior featherweight match opens the event, this potential bantamweight show-stealer will commence with similar odds as lopsidedly in favor of Jorge Arce as they are for Rigondeaux.
The Mexican veteran Arce (60-6-2, 46 KO) is favored by odds of 1/16 to defeat the relatively inexperienced Jesus Rojas (18-1-1, 13 KO), according to Odds Checker.
I personally think these odds are a little too heavy considering the exchanges Arce allows himself to get caught up in. When the fists get to flying, anything can happen.
If you're feeling lucky, this might be the most likely upset possible outside of the main event.
Mike Jones vs. Randall Bailey
3 of 4Mike Jones (26-0, 19 KO) is being given the closest odds of this night's undercard with a 1/5 chance of winning against grizzled veteran Randall Bailey (42-7, 36 KO), according to Odds Checker.
This still gives Jones an over 80 percent chance of winning, but it would only take $500 to make $100 off this fight. The deciding factor will be whether Bailey can land his fight-ending right hand.
Bailey "The Knockout King" may have lost speed and reflexes at 37 years of age, but he still has plenty dynamite to crack. Bailey's also been in the ring with the tougher competition such as Miguel Cotto (37-3, 30 KO).
Jones hasn't been in with the type of great fighters Bailey has, and he's left something to be desired every time he's stepped up in competition.
An upset is possible here, but after seeing Bailey's uninspired performance fight live last September, I'll have to concede to a Jones unanimous decision here. That speed will be a killer in this fight for Bailey.
Main Event: Manny Pacquiao vs. Timothy Bradley
4 of 4Manny Pacquiao (54-3-2, 38 KO) is a beast trying to prove his 33-year-old fangs haven't dulled in their sharpness.
Timothy Bradley (28-0, 12 KO) is an undefeated 28-year-old who believes he has the proper tools to slay the old beast.
Let the games begin.
Odds Shark has the odds at minus-450 for Pacquiao, while various sources on the Web have Bradley's odds of victory at plus-325 to plus-360.
That entails a barely over 80 percent chance of victory for Pacquiao. That's obviously in his favor, but the oddsmakers seem to have this fight pegged as the closest of the evening and with good reason.
Pacquiao's last performances against Mexican rival Juan Manuel Marquez was supposed to be a blowout according to most, and it became an even match with Pacquiao just scraping out a majority decision.
Bradley has shown himself to be hungry, disciplined and ready for any challenge, but it's unknown how he will handle his biggest challenge yet in the first ever eight-division champ.
It'll take less than $500 to earn $100 for a Pacquiao victory, and a Bradley victory will earn you $325-$360 if you bet $100. If you're looking for an upset to make some money off of, this is likely your best bet.
