Viral Video of the Day: Great Euro Moments Recreated by Legos
Just the other day, I was saying to myself: "Self, don't you wish there were more football-and-Lego mash-ups on the Internet?"
Thankfully, that thirst has now been quenched.
Behold the video above: In it, the BBC gives us a chance to watch great moments from the history of UEFA's European champions. In Lego form.

It's a brilliant mash-up of football, history and, of course, everybody's favorite toy building blocks. And no matter who you support, you'll probably enjoy it (yes, even English fans).
First up are France and Michel Platini, with the blue-clad Legomen winning Euro 84 and celebrating a goal in a nice little goose-step formation.
Next, Irish eyes are smiling as Ray Houghton heads the winner against England at Euro 88. Sorry, England supporters, but it gets better in a moment.
You'll surely all remember Paul Gascoigne's famous goal celebration on home soil in 1996. And, well, the Legos actually do a fair impression of it.
There's also room for Stuart Pearce's redemptive penalty kick (also from 1996), France's extra-time golden goal in the 2000 final, Cristiano Ronaldo's tears in 2004 and Spain's trophy triumph four years ago.
The video ends with a bit of English optimism, but I'm not going to hate. The Three Lions need all the good vibes they can get this summer.
I have a quibble with the video, though.
Where in the world is Marco van Basten's killer volley for Holland against USSR in the '88 final? Sure, that would be hard to recreate with Legos, but was any of this easy? Plus, that was an all-time moment.
All in all, however, it's an entertaining video. Now let's get the real thing going, shall we?
