Brazil vs. Mexico: Huge Victory Proves El Tri Is a Force in International Scene
Mexico is stalking up the world football rankings, and with their 2-0 win over Brazil in an international friendly on Sunday at Cowboys Stadium, they showed they can't be counted out against anyone in the next World Cup.
El Tri put their well-rounded game and potent offensive attack on display on Sunday.
That attack starts with dynamic forwards Giovani Dos Santos and Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, who both netted first half goals against Brazil.

Dos Santos was especially pivotal in this one. In the 22nd minute, he hit a clever chip to start off the scoring. Then, just more than 10 minutes later, Dos Santos was in the box when Brazil's Juan Jesus fouled him.
El Tri was awarded a penalty kick, and Chicharito delivered for the game's second and final goal.
This was an impressive show of force for the front line of Mexico, and it was equally impressive for their back line.
Brazil controlled a far higher percentage of possession and took many more shots in this one. But the El Tri back line would not break.
Brazil was playing a U-23 team for this friendly, but that shouldn't diminish the performance of Mexico's back line, as they were still charged with the task of stopping Neymar and Hulk.
Mexico defender Severo Meza was especially impressive as he almost single-handedly took Neymar out of his game.
This was a statement win for Mexico as they prepare to complete their World Cup qualifying. They are now No. 20 in the world rankings, and they aren't done moving up.
El Tri is going to have no problem qualifying for the World Cup, and once they get there, they can compete with anyone. This back line will keep the opponents' scoring down, and their attacking forwards are a threat to score even when they get limited touches.
