Pacquiao vs. Bradley: Bold Predictions for Crucial Title Fight
If you're not looking forward to Manny Pacquiao vs. Timothy Bradley, start paying attention.
The undefeated Bradley is talking a lot of game, and while his 28-0 record may back up that talk, he's never faced someone of Pac-Man's stature.
That's because not many people—ever—can say they are as good as Pacquiao, who holds a 54-3-2 record and hasn't lost since early 2005.
Nonetheless, Pacquiao is getting older and "Desert Storm" appears to be on a war path. Whatever happens on June 9, one thing is positive. You're going to be upset if you miss it.
Here's some bold predictions that should spark your interest, as if that bold introduction wasn't enough.
Pacquiao comes to the ring with the cast of Harry Potter
Floyd Mayweather thought he was all high and mighty getting Justin Bieber, 50-Cent and Triple H to carry his belts to the ring. OK, that was pretty awesome.
But in this ever increasing rivalry that will never result in actual fight, Pac-Man is going to have to come to the ring with an ever better entourage. How do you beat the Biebs, you ask?
You beat him with Harry, Ron and Hermione, that's how. And with all eight movies completed, it's not like those guys have anything to do.
Make it happen, Pac-Man.
Both fighters get knocked down
OK, on to the real stuff.
I fully expect both Desert Storm and Pacquiao to come out swinging in this one. Bradley is fired up, and Pacquiao may very well be in his last fight.
And both of them have the power to knock the other down. Pacquiao has the obvious advantage in the power department, even if his last knockout came in 2009.
On the other side of the ring, most people point to Bradley's speed, but he has a sneaky big right hook that will floor Pacquiao if he lands it.
As far as rounds go, I think Bradley surprises Pacquiao and lands his knockdown in the third while Pac-Man settles down, comes back and gets his in the fifth.
Timothy Bradley wins by knockout
If both men come out of the gates with rigor and aggression, and both land early knockdowns, then they are going to be gassed near the end of this fight, no matter how good of shape they are in.
Should they both tire, I give the advantage to the younger Bradley, who has 30 less fights under his wing. Pacquiao is smarter, and he'll have a strategic edge over Bradley as the fight wears on, but I still think Bradley lands a late right hook.
Say, in the 11th round.
I also think Pac-Man will retire shortly after the match. He just seems to have too much going on in his life. He's religious, he's involved in politics, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him devote more of his time to those things.
