Euro 2012: England's Win Will Be First of Many Under Roy Hodgson
Roy Hodgson is unbeatable.
The brand new manager of the England national football team is now 1-0 as the club’s shot caller. With the impressive success that he has garnered in the past, England should expect nothing less than a consistent output of victories in the future and instant triumph in Euro 2012.
In Hodgson’s debut, an Andy Carroll pass to Ashley Young proved to be the game winning goal in a 1-0 win over Norway. In the first friendly match of the tournament on Saturday, according to UEFA, Hodgson showed contentment after his squad’s performance. He said.

"It was a marvellous start to my career as national coach. Norway don't lose many games here and it's a long time since we have beaten them here. There were times we could have been more positive; maybe we could have played it forward a bit quicker. That is something we need to work on, but by the time the championships come around we'll have done a lot more work. It's a positive start to my time.
"
And when Hodgson shows contentment, it’s a good sign. This isn’t a manager that will get excited over any slight success. He knows what true achievement looks like.
Hodgson managed the Switzerland national team and led them to the last 16 of the 1994 World Cup as well as qualification for Euro 1996. While those finishes don’t sound impressive, in context, they’re phenomenal accomplishments. Switzerland hadn’t qualified for a major tournament since the 1960s.
And he had the same turn-around success when he managed the Finland national team in 2006 and 2007. Hodgson carried them to a 33rd place FIFA ranking—the highest in the club’s history. It was also the first time that Finland had ever managed to come remotely close to qualifying for a major tournament.
If Hodgson is capable of turning around those seemingly sunken ships, he’ll do wonders with England.
