Pacquiao vs. Bradley: How Past Fights Have Prepared Pac Man for Victory
Manny Pacquiao is prepared to beat Tim Bradley.
The current Welterweight champion has 54 wins, three losses, two draws and 38 knockouts during his career, and he has beaten fighters with a broad array of fighting styles.
His past successes against everyone from Juan Manuel Marquez to Ricky Hatton to Oscar De La Hoya have provided him with experience he can draw upon to overmatch the 28-year-old Bradley on June 9.
Although his contender is 28-0 with 12 KOs, Pacquiao will be ready.
Bradley is known for his hand and foot speed and overall quickness, not necessarily his power.
He has been extremely confident in the months leading up to this fight, but he expressed the one distinct advantage Pacquiao will have on him in a recent L.A. Times article:
""The only advantage he has on me is his power. But I can go to the body if he gets reckless."
"
The Pac Man dealt with this type of boxer on many occasions during his illustrious career, especially during his ascension from light flyweight to his current standing in the welterweight division.
Hatton, who was defeated by Pacquiao on May 2, 2009, was known for his ultra-aggressive style in the ring.
The Filipino champion dispatched the British contender by a second-round knockout.
While Bradley isn't as powerful as Marquez, the man who fought Pacquiao close three times, the Mexican fighter was deliberate and patiently tactical while employing a variety of counter punches when fighting the Pac Man, but his best finish was a draw in the first meeting.
Although Bradley is most likely planning to be on the attack on June 9, even if he adopts a more methodical approach, Pacquiao will be ready.
The best pound-for-pound boxer in the world will have his hands full, but experience, immense skill and talent will ultimately lead to another victory for the Pac Man.
