Is Tyler Thigpen the Future of the Kansas City Chiefs?
So you may say, well Detroit's taking former Georgia Bulldog Mathew Stafford.
The Rams have Bulger, so they don't need a quarterback, and one would have to believe that Mark Sanchez will be picked by the Kansas City Chiefs.
Now hold on one second! That's not fair to one Tyler Thigpen, who did not do spectacularly, but was the best passer dressed in the red and gold since Trent Green in 2005.
Many use the argument that he couldn't run an NFL offense, and is only suitable for a college style offense in order to be successful.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
First of all, what's wrong with that? If it works, it works, right?
Second, he went into training camp as the third quarterback behind tested Damon Huard and superstar hopeful Brodie Croyle. How many snaps do you think good ole' Thiggy got? How many reps was he allowed?
Now give this young man an offseason as the guy, and he will be great in a pro-style offense, I have no doubt. Of course, that argument would only count if a guy like Bill Cowher is indeed the next head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs.
But if Todd Haley does indeed come here to be the head coach, then Thigpen need not worry, because Haley is in love with the spread offense and the passing game. Either way, from what I saw all season, Thigpen will thrive. It's a matter of trust.
Had New England not believed in Tom Brady, then he wouldn't be the superstar he is today. Had Seatle not believed in Matt Hasselback, then they would not have been in the Super Bowl a few years back. Had St. Louis not believed in Kurt Warner, '99, '01, and this season may have been very different.
Now, I don't want to hear about his arm strength or his stats in the fourth quarter. In the end, all that matters to me is leadership and moxie! It may just be me now, but if a guy can win over a guy like Tony Gonzalez, to the point that he believes Thigpen is his quarterback, then there must be something special about the guy.
The problem with today's league is that teams give up too early on young quarterbacks for stupid reasons. The Chiefs are also guilty of this.
Remember a guy by the name of Rich Gannon? Exactly.
