2012 NBA Playoffs TV Schedule: Where to Catch All of Today's Hottest Action
As the Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers battle it out in Game 4 of their series, there is still plenty of NBA playoff action coming today and I'm here to give you all the info you need to sit back and watch basketball for the rest of the weekend.
Miami Heat at New York Knicks: 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC
This is it for the New York Knicks. They either come out firing with the tandem of Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire and extend this series to another game, or they can go home to their couches in their New York City penthouses until next season comes around.
The issue for the Knicks is that there's no small victory that they can point to in this series to rally the troops behind. Miami has defeated them by double-digit points the past three games of the series, and the Madison Square Garden crowd can't get loud if there's nothing to cheer about today.
Atlanta Hawks at Boston Celtics: 7 p.m. ET on TNT
With the Bulls getting banged up game after game in Philadelphia, Boston has become the most logical team who could spoil the Heat's coast to the NBA Finals. If they want to get to that point, however, they're going to need point guard Rajon Rondo to continue to carry the load and hope Ray Allen gets back on the court soon.
The Hawks obviously need Joe Johnson to be the focal point on offense and keep the Celtics behind, preferably not by a close margin either. Now that seems like an obvious statement, but as a New Englander going to school in Boston, there's few arenas that get more deafening than TD Garden when the fans are witnessing a close encounter.
Boston fans are some of the loudest and rowdiest around, and they realize this may be the last good chance at a championship for the Celts for a little while. They'll be fired up in Beantown tonight.
Los Angeles Lakers at Denver Nuggets: 9:30 p.m. ET on TNT
With Denver just one game away from tying up this series, they continue to show the NBA world that maybe they were the ones who got the better end of the Anthony deal a little while back.
These Lakers aren't the Lakers who took the Celtics to the test in the finals in 2008, or the team that won it all in back-to-back years in '09 and '10 but they're still a force to be reckoned with.
Denver came close to winning Game 2 of this series and won a tightly contested Game 3, so tonight's matchup on their home court has got to have hopes high in the Nuggets locker room. That being said, LA won't be taking their competition lightly tonight after two tough battles with their opponent.
"They executed extremely well, they played with a lot of intensity. And for us, it was a good learning experience for some of our young guys," Lakers star Kobe Bryant told The Miami Herald.
The Nuggets will come out firing in Denver tonight, but Bryant and the Lakers are going to do their best to weather that storm and climb one step closer to the next round of the playoffs.
