Chase Wright DFA'd in Order to Make Room for Andy Pettitte on 40-Man Roster
With the addition of Andy Pettitte to the 40-man roster, the Yankees designated Chase Wright for assignment. I actually liked Wright a lot, but ever since that disastrous call-up to the major leagues...he has really fallen off the radar.
Chase had a really good 2008 campaign. He split his time between Double-A Trenton and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He went (W-L) 8-2 with a 2.96 ERA in 16 starts at AA. In Scranton, he went (W-L) 2-1 with a 2.41 ERA in six starts. Maybe if he isn’t claimed off waivers, he’ll get another shot with the Yankees.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
In his second start on April 22, 2007, Wright faced the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park, where he became the second pitcher in Major League history to give up four consecutive home runs; he surrendered home runs during the third inning to Red Sox players Manny Ramírez, J.D. Drew, Mike Lowell, and Jason Varitek. The Red Sox went on to win the game 7-6. He would later be recalled in September and pitch in one game.
