Floyd Mayweather Attacks Manny Pacquiao Again About Use of PEDs
Barely four days before his fight with Miguel Cotto at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., unbeaten WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather has again resurrected an old issue with future foe Manny Pacquiao about his alleged use of performance enhancing drugs (PEDs).
Unmindful of his pending defamation case filed by Pacquiao in a California court, Mayweather spoke about Pacquiao's alleged use of PEDs with a group of reporters Tuesday.
Mayweather was speaking to reporters in disbelief about Pacquiao's physical transformation, starting out as a fighter at 106 and now fighting at 147. He was specific about Pacquiao's head, which he said has grown bigger through the years since he turned pro in 1995.
""Go back and look at the pictures. His head is small and then all of a sudden his head just grew? Come on man, stop this. Ray Charles can see this sh*t. Go back and look at the pictures and tell me this man's head didn't get bigger. You're going to tell me this sh*t is all natural. Come one man, stop," Mayweather said in a report by Ric Reeno of Boxing Scene.
"I'm going up in weight but I'm not just walking through no damn fighters," "This motherf***er was 106 [when he started] and he's just walking through [Miguel] Cotto. And Cotto can't knock down [Shane] Mosley, but he can? Come on man."
"
Mayweather cited the case of Mosley, who admitted he was on PEDs, in which they both took random drug tests.
""You saw what happened when [Mosley] was doing [PEDs]?" Mayweather raged. "What was he doing to fighters? He was running through fighters. And guess what, then all of a sudden I spoke on it. And then when I spoke, they said 'oh Floyd is just scared.' Then you took him off of it and put him in front me, what did he do? He got killed! This is bullsh*t and you know it."
"
Mayweather also talked about his health, saying it's more important than anything else. He said that is why he wants to be sure he is facing a clean fighter, who is willing to submit to random drug testing.
""When my career is over, if I'm hurt, or something is going on, because something has happened in a fight, I can't come to you and say, 'Yo, I need you to pay my rent for this month. I need you to pay my bills for this month. I need you to pay my car note. I need you to put my kids through school, he said.
"
Mayweather is set to face Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nev. The unbeaten champion is favored to win over the veteran Puerto Rican via unanimous decision but a good number of fans believe Cotto can run away with an upset in the early rounds.
