Dallas Cowboys: Drama of the Lone Star

Bryan BrackneyJan 27, 2009

The Dallas Cowboys having reality TV shows. That's real fitting. Coming into the season the cowboys looked great. They had a record 13 Pro Bowlers, and some new weapons in Adam Jones, Zack Thomas, Mike Jenkins, and Felix Jones.

The Cowboys came into the season 3-0, and looked as potent as ever. After a sloppy Week Five win against the Bengals, Terrell Owens speaks out.

"It's no secret, when I get involved, we move the chains" Owens said. Then the Cowboys got shocked by the Arizona Cardinals in overtime. Jerry Jones pulled a shocker. The Cowboys traded to the Detroit Lions to get Roy Williams.

At the same time Adam "Pacman" Jones had been suspended again. Tony Romo and Felix Jones were hurt, and they were heading into the stone cold St. Louis Rams. By the Cowboys week ten bye they were 5-4 and their locker room seemed split.

After a couple wins the Cowboys were back in the thick of it. Tied in the fourth quarter against Pittsburgh, things broke down. Tony Romo threw a interception, that was returned for a touchdown.

Terrell Owens was complaining about not getting the ball enough. The Cowboys could get in the playoffs with a win against the Eagles in Week 17. That did not happen. The Eagles drove up and down the field against the Cowboys, and the offense could not finish.

The Cowboys will start next season with two different coordinators. Special teams coach Bruce Reed was fired. He was replaced by Joe Decamillis who was the Jaguars special teams coach. Defensive coordinator Brian Stewart was fired, and the Cowboys have not gotten a replacement yet.

The Cowboys cut ties with Pacman Jones, after they found out of a incident he had when he was with the Titans. Next year, don't expect that much difference. Still T.O, still Romo. So keep your popcorn warm.
