Reader's Choice: Kane Eliminates 11 People at the 2001 Royal Rumble
1 of 6Well, I said there was a long list of memorable moments. But due to popular request, this memorable moment will be mentioned as well.
And rightfully so, it deserves to be.
At the 2001 Royal Rumble, Kane went on a spree of dominance by eliminating 11 WWE Superstars, eventually becoming the runner-up in the match.
To this day, he still holds the record for the most eliminations in a single Royal Rumble match.
5. Kane Sets the Undertaker on Fire
2 of 6At the 1998 Royal Rumble, the Undertaker competed against Shawn Michaels in a casket match for the WWE Championship. During the match, Undertaker was jumped by DX and Los Boriquas.
All of a sudden, Kane appears and defends the Undertaker, chasing off all of Shawn Michaels' henchmen. After what seemed to be an alliance between the two, Kane turns on his "brother" and puts him in the casket.
He then proceeds to roll the casket down the aisle, dismantle it with a pick axe and set it on fire.
4. Kane Wins WWE Title
3 of 6At the 1998 King of the Ring pay-per-view, Kane competed against "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in a First Blood match for the WWE Championship. After much chaos, and interference by Mankind, the Undertaker comes out to remove Mankind from his involvement in he match.
Unfortunately, when the Undertaker swings the chair to hit Mankind, he ducks and Steve Austin is hit. This causes him to bleed, and eventually when Earl Hebner comes to his senses, the bell is rung.
Kane becomes the new WWE Champion.
3. Kane Removes Mask
4 of 6On the June 23, 2003 episode of Monday Night Raw, Kane was granted an opportunity to compete against HHH for the World Heavyweight Championship. Although this is usually something to be happy about, there was one stipulation that Eric Bischoff implemented for Kane if he lost the match: He would have to remove his mask.
Unfortunately, Kane was on the short end at the conclusion of the match, forcing the unthinkable to happen.
Not only did he remove the mask, but he chokeslammed his friend and tag team partner, RVD, turning him heel in the process.
2. Kane Wins World Heavyweight Title
5 of 6At the Money in the Bank pay-per-view in 2010, Kane won the SmackDown Money in the Bank briefcase, giving him the ability to cash it in whenever he wanted to within the next calendar year.
Later on in the evening, Rey Mysterio defeated Jack Swagger to retain his World Heavyweight Championship. Jack Swagger would then begin to assault Mysterio post-match. Kane comes to the rescue and fends off Swagger due to him believing that Swagger was the culprit that led the Undertaker to be in the hospital.
But this wasn't the end of the pay-per-view.
Moments later, after Kane warded off Swagger to the back, he returns and cashes in his briefcase on Mysterio, defeats him and becomes World Heavyweight Champion for the first time.
1. Kane Debuts
6 of 6It all started in 1997.
After many months of cryptic messages that Paul Bearer gave to the Undertaker about his "brother," the culmination of these messages came to fruition at the Bad Blood pay-per-view.
During the Hell in a Cell match between the Undertaker and Shawn Michaels, all of a sudden, the lights go off. Unfamiliar music hits, flames erupt and we see Paul Bearer with whom we believe to be the person he has been promising to bring back from the Undertaker's past.
WWE fans worldwide will never forget Vince McMahon's reaction to the debut of the "Big Red Monster," which confirmed his identity.
"And that...that's gotta be...that's gotta be Kane!"
