Barcelona vs. Real Madrid: Los Blancos Will Ride Momentum to La Liga Crown
Real Madrid cemented themselves a little hardware with their 2-1 win on Saturday over rival Barcelona. While the La Liga championship is not officially theirs, it might as well be.
When Cristiano Ronaldo put it in to turbo to outrace the Barca defenders and net the decisive second goal for Madrid, he not only delivered a Clasico clincher, but the La Liga capper.
Los Blancos now have a seven point edge with each team having just four games left. This is too much ground for Barcelona to make up—although that won't be for lack of trying.

Barca can easily run the table through that schedule, and they could sleepwalk their way to a 3-0-1. The problem is that Madrid has the same luxurious type of ending to their campaign.

Madrid would have to pull the choking act of the century to blow this La Liga league, and that is not going to happen. Not after they pulled off this emotionally charged victory.
If Madrid was going to blow their lead, they would have wilted in their head-to-head meeting with the defending champions.
They would have crumbled, and the weight of the pressure would have set the seeds for a complete late season collapse.
Instead, they rose above the pressure and affirmed their position in the driver's seat. This will be a huge relief to the team, and free them up to finish their campaign with a purpose.
This is certainly a Madrid squad that can struggle with their focus against lesser opponents, but with the championship firmly in their grasp they will not allow this to happen.
