Nate Potter to Cardinals: Video Highlights, Scouting Report and Analysis
Boise State offensive tackle Nate Potter is a smart and savvy blocker, with the mobility skills of a natural zone-blocking lineman.
At 6'6" and 303 pounds, Potter demonstrates decent quickness across the line of scrimmage and has the refined technique to handle the finesse aspects of zone-based schemes.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
"Has jackhammer hands and delivers constant hits until the play is over. Has light, quick feet sliding but only adequate overall burst. Strong enough to control and plant linebackers and safeties attacking gaps.
"
However, the same scouting report does point out a lack of imposing physical strength as the central weakness in Potter's game, stating, "Average upper-body strength. Lacks the sand in his pants to withstand bull rushers in the NFL."
Potter was not highly ranked as a prospect on most boards, but he became a key figure on a Boise State line that led the nation with the lowest sacks allowed per game.
Mobility is the key to Potter's game and his footwork make him a natural pass protector, either at the interior or on the edges of a front five.
Former Boise State star Ryan Clady was able to make a successful leap to the pro game and excel in the Denver Broncos blocking schemes. Potter can make the same transition. His athleticism and technique provided the platform for the success of both Kellen Moore and running back Doug Martin at Boise's State.
He has seen time at both tackle spots, but projects best to the right side and should probably still remain at tackle. Potter possesses the kind of intelligence, agility and tenacity coaches love in a lineman.
Despite an exceptional range of movement, a lack of brute strength damaged Potter's draft stock, as did concerns about a previous back injury. However, linemen with his level of athleticism and coordination are rare.
Pick Analysis:
Great value for the Cardinals to add another offensive lineman in the 7th round. Potter has the ability to play in his rookie season, a rarity for a 7th round pick.
