Take That, Jamie Moyer: 40-Year-Old Henry Blanco Steals Base Thursday Night
Maybe it's just a good week for 40-year-old players in the big leagues.
Two days after Jamie Moyer, 49, became the oldest pitcher to win a game in the majors, fellow quadragenarian Henry Blanco stole a base in the Arizona Diamondbacks' 10-2 loss to the Atlanta Braves Thursday night.
Here's the boxscore, just in case you need some visual proof.

Unfortunately, there's no video or photographic evidence of this swipe. MLB Advanced Media, along with AP, Getty Images and US Presswire really dropped the ball there.
To be fair, Blanco was the back end of a double steal in the third inning. Gerardo Parra swiped third, which was surely the focus of Braves catcher Brian McCann. But hey, if the opponent isn't paying attention, go ahead and take advantage.
If you want to see Blanco slide into a base, however, he did score a run later in the game on A.J. Pollock's sacrifice fly, giving the rookie his first major-league RBI. Here's the video.
The stolen base was Blanco's first since 2010, and only his second theft since 2001, when he swiped three bags for the Milwaukee Brewers.
Not that you would've thought so, but Blanco is not the oldest major league player to register a stolen base. Julio Franco was 48 years old when swiped a bag with the New York Mets in 2006. But the oldest player to steal a base is Arlie Latham, who did it at 49 years old with the New York Giants.
