UFC 145: Fighters with the Most to Lose
This Saturday, UFC 145 comes live from Atlanta with a light heavyweight title fight as the headliner.
There are a number of long-time veterans and up-and-comers on the card, giving it a nice balance. Either way, there are a number of guys who have a lot to lose on this card should they find themselves on the short end of their respective fight.
Let's take a look at who has the most to lose.
Keith Wisniewski
1 of 4For Keith Wisniewski, everything is on the line come Saturday night, as he is a long-time veteran with not a lot of time left. Should he lose, Wisniewski will probably never see the bright lights of the UFC again.
He has been professional since 1998, fighting in 42 bouts in his long career. In that time, he has already had a stint with the UFC (albeit, one fight). The UFC is always looking toward the future and this old-timer may not have a spot should he lose.
Mark Hominick
2 of 4Mark Hominick is a former featherweight title challenger who is on the verge of becoming forgotten. After dropping the title fight to Jose Aldo, Hominick was quickly knocked out by Chan Sung Jung.
Hominick now finds himself in a do-or-die situation. He has been presented a fight that he should win, but that doesn't mean he will. If he should fall to Eddie Yagin, he will disappear into obscurity.
Saturday is a must-win for Hominick. He has almost everything to lose.
Rory MacDonald
3 of 4Rory MacDonald is arguably the hottest prospect in mixed martial arts right now, so he has a lot on the line come Saturday night.
MacDonald faces another rising fighter in Che Mills, but MacDonald has dominated most of his time in the UFC. Other than letting his fight against Carlos Condit slip away, MacDonald has been virtually untouchable in the Octagon.
He is not far off in terms of receiving a title shot. If he loses Saturday, he will be back down the ladder looking up.
Jon Jones
4 of 4Jon Jones is an obvious choice here, as he is the title holder putting the championship on the line.
In addition to that, his image of invincibility is on the line, as nobody has been able to figure out the champ. His only loss is a disqualification, which saw him dominating his opponent.
Add to that the fact that he is facing his former teammate and current heated rival, Rashad Evans, and he has an incredible amount to lose come this weekend.
The whole face of the UFC may be lifted if Jones loses to Rashad Evans.
