Wesley Korir – Men’s Open Winner

The 29-year-old Kenyan had not won a marathon since the 2010 Los Angeles event but looked strong and was able to beat the brutal temperatures to capture first place.

He had an official time of 2:12:40 seconds and likely secured himself a spot on the Kenyan national team for the 2012 Olympics in London.

Sharon Cherop – Women’s Open Winner

Cherop is a 28-year-old Kenyan that emerged late on the marathon scene. She debuted at the Twin Cities marathon in 2010 and finished in third. Cherop also finished third in last year’s Beantown event.

She finally broke through this year and won in Boston with a respectable 2:31:50 finish, which was just two seconds ahead of the second place runner.

Joshua Cassidy – Men’s Wheelchair Winner

This Canadian native broke the men’s wheelchair record with a blazing time of 1:18:25. He beat the previous course time by two seconds.

No one was even close. Cassidy absolutely dominated.

Shirley Reilly – Women’s Wheelchair Winner

Reilly edged the reigning champ, Wakako Tscuhida, by one second to capture a thrilling victory. She finished with a 1:37:36 time.

The 40-year-old former soccer star finished in 4:27:45, which is a great 9:53 per mile and something she should be proud of.

Ryan Sutter – Bachelorette Contestant

The reality TV star cruised through the race and did quite well, crossing the finish line in just 03:36:02.
