Patriots' Day 2012: Boston Bruins Will Continue Holiday Winning Streak Tonight
Patriots’ Day has begun with the Boston Marathon, seen the 11:05 a.m. Red Sox game start and will likely end with the Boston Bruins winning their fourth consecutive playoff game on this holiday.
It’s a great day for New Englanders, and nothing would be better for fans than seeing their hockey team take the ice against the Capitals in Washington D.C. and going up 2-1 in the first-round series of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
The Bruins beat the Montreal Canadiens in last year’s postseason and notched their first win of a long journey that would end with the B’s hoisting the Stanley Cup on June 15.

They are off to a better start this year and are going to do their best to beat the No. 7 Capitals on their home ice and reclaim their advantage in the series.
Historically, Boston is just 7-6 on this civic holiday that celebrates the Battles of Lexington and Concord and the start of the American Revolution.
There is a good chance they use it as inspiration to conquer their foes tonight and, at the worst, force a series split when they head back to the Garden for Game 5.
After winning the first game in overtime with a 1-0 shutout, the Bruins coughed up Game 2 to the Caps in double overtime by surrendering a late goal and losing, 2-1.
That tough defeat and the fact that it is Patriots’ Day should provide all the motivation the B’s need to beat Washington and win a historic fourth consecutive game during the holiday.
