Michigan Spring Game: Wolverines Set for Big Recruiting Weekend in Ann Arbor

Wes ODonnellJun 6, 2018

The Michigan Wolverines will get a chance to continue their onslaught of the 2013 recruiting class this weekend at their annual spring game.

They could even land another commitment or two.

Following a 2012 top 10 recruiting class coach Brady Hoke and his staff are already up to 17 commitments for 2013—they've been juggernauts on the trail since the minute they stepped on campus.

They're not just cleaning up in-state either. Hoke has done a phenomenal job of chasing down top talent from all over the country and this weekend will welcome a number of 2013 committed recruits and uncommitted recruits as well as some underclassmen in the 2014 class.

While many players will receiver attention, a trio of top 15ers is going to be the focus.

Tim Sullivan, editor of The Wolverine and special correspondent for the Detroit Free Press writes:

"

The highest-ranked recruit who is planning to attend is Olney (Md.) Good Counsel cornerback Kendall Fuller ... The country’s No. 14 player according to Rivals.com is Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas defensive end Joey Bosa ... Woodbridge (Va.) C.D. Hylton linebacker E.J. Levenberry is the third headliner. A 6-foot-3, 225-pound player with the athleticism to make plays sideline-to-sideline, he is ranked the No. 15 player in the country.

"

All three players have been on Michigan's radar for a while, but both Fuller and Levenberry are two players they're desperate to land and Bosa isn't far behind.

Levenberry Jr. has already been to the UM campus and this could be another huge opportunity for Michigan to make a lasting impression on the potential star linebacker.

Hoke and has staff have emphasized a need for quality linebackers in their first two classes and they've already earned the commitment of two in the 2013 class after landing four linebackers in 2012.

Fuller is one of the most coveted players in the country and Michigan has a battle on their hands for his commitment. The Maryland native also had three older brothers play for Virginia Tech.

And Bosa's top four is considered to be Ohio State, Florida, Alabama and Wisconsin, so the Wolverines hope they can get some work done there.

They'll get some help from top 2013 commit Shane Morris, one of the top quarterback recruits in the country. Sullivan reports he has been on the trail hyping Michigan any chance he gets—Morris committed in May of last year.

The Maize and Blue had nearly all of their signed 2012 class committed by July of last year and Hoke has been out to replicate that success this year (he's doing it with 17 already in the stable).

This is the last weekend they'll get a chance to show off with emphasis before the players break for summer and they're expected to take full advantage of it.
