Big Ten Football Morning Coffee: Michigan Spring Game Is Sort of a Misnomer
Rise and shine, friends. Here's what's going down in the Big Ten today.
Michigan's spring game is this Saturday...sort of. It is, in the sense that it is a spring practice where fans can gather and watch the players, and a good time can be had by all. But there won't exactly be an actual game, per se.
The case was the same last year, and the root cause is the same: Michigan just doesn't have the depth available to pull off a full spring game.
Ohio State's spring game, meanwhile, isn't until next week, but students and everyone else with a BuckID can attend a practice on Saturday morning, then hang out with the players afterward.
Wait, why isn't every program in America doing this?
I have no idea which team is involved in this old-timey video or if it has anything to do with the Big Ten at all, but it's utterly delightful:
If the eight-yard cushion and four-man rush are the bane of your existence, give Iowa a look this year; it's going with press coverage and increased blitzes under new defensive coordinator Phil Parker.
Cornerback Mohammed Seisay is making an immediate impact for Nebraska, according to HuskerExtra.com, and that's tremendous news for the Huskers; the secondary situation isn't all that great yet.
