David Paulson to Steelers: Video Highlights, Analysis and Scouting Report
Former Oregon Ducks tight end David Paulson is an incredibly solid receiver with excellent hands, which makes him a great pickup in the 2012 NFL draft.
Paulson boasts 67 receptions, 1,041 yards and 10 touchdowns during his three-year career with the Ducks, with six of those touchdowns coming during the 2011 season.
At 6'4, 241 pounds, he could turn into a very good pickup.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
What David Paulson Brings To Team
Paulson brings a pair of great hands and solid athleticism in open space. He runs good routes even though he isn't incredibly fast.
His hands are easily his best feature as a tight end, and his consistency should easily translate to the NFL.
Paulson can move the chains with big-catch ability, which has become extremely valuable in today's league.
What Experts Are Saying
Here are the strengths and weaknesses for Paulson via his NFL Combine profile on NFL.com:
Strengths:
"Paulson is athletic, although he doesn't look the part. He is quick to get out of his stance and into his route and understands to how to play to his strengths. Speed isn't his forte, but he knows how to lean on linebackers or throw a last-second jab at them to get space. He is decent as a blocker to wall off his defender, something he was asked to do a lot in Oregon's offense. He is a heady player who doesn't try to do too much and usually will make the tough catch when the ball is thrown his way.
"
Weaknesses:
"Paulson will find it difficult to get open at the next level going up against more athletic linebackers. He is a slow mover who struggles to change direction quickly, which could be dangerous as it will allow linebackers and safeties to recover or undercut his routes.
"
The long and short of it is that Paulson may struggle to adapt to the intense athleticism of the NFL, but his hands and ability to play within himself make him very valuable.
Rookie Impact
He's going to be a solid developmental pick. I love his hands and think he will eventually turn into a very serviceable second or third tight end. If anything, he should be a good special teams player his rookie year.
