Harrison Barnes: Skilled Scorer Will Be an Instant Superstar on NBA Lottery Team

Alex KayJun 7, 2018

Harrison Barnes is an elite college scorer that projects to become an even better pro and a near-instantaneous superstar.

The 6’8”, 215-pound swingman had a decent collegiate career, averaging 17.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game during his sophomore year, but will become an even better NBA player after he gets selected in the lottery by a team desperate for his talent.

Many scouts and analysts have Barnes going anywhere from the second-overall pick to the tenth, but rarely is he projected to fall from the top 14.

The reason why he won’t is because most of these pitiful franchises that missed the playoffs have a real dearth of scoring. Harrison can come in and immediately be the first or second option with a real chance to start from day one.

Other players at his position that were deemed worthy of such a lofty selection and relied on to score have found success and become superstars.

Right now guys like Kevin Durant, Danny Granger and Rudy Gay are tearing up the league and making a name for themselves after being counted on by their franchises to lead them in the points department.

Barnes is about to land in a rebuilding situation, much like those men did, and help turn the fortunes of the organization around.

If he can do that and average around 20 or more points per game, he’s definitely going to become a superstar and someone that makes multiple All-Star appearances while selling a lot of jerseys.
