Masters 2012: Bubba Watson Will Use Performance to Build Towards Great Season
While most people were focused on Phil Mickelson coming into the final day of the Masters, Bubba Watson is the American that is turning some heads.
The lefty is among the leaders going into the final stretch, but win or lose he should be proud of his performance.
Watson is known for his great driving ability. He is one of the strongest players on the course and his length can keep him in any tournament.
However, this weekend he has displayed an ability to make good reads on the green and hit longer putts.
At 33 years old, he can still improve to become a force on the PGA Tour.
Even though he is still yet to win a major, Watson has come close. He lost in the playoff of the 2010 PGA Championship to Martin Kaymer.
In 2011, Bubba has been able to take home two tournament wins, helping him earn the No. 16 ranking in the world. It will only be a matter of time until that success translate to the majors.
Since the decline of Tiger Woods, the sport of golf has needed an American to win fans over. Mickelson draws a crowd, but Watson could be the next big thing.
The Florida native is already a fan favorite when he travels around the course. He has a very colorful personality and is not shy about celebrating a quality shot.
If Watson can use the momentum from a great showing in Augusta, it will translate to future success in tournaments and he will soon become a household name.
