The Only Goal You Need to See This Weekend: Barcelona, Tiki-Taka and Pedro
Football, like life, sometimes is just not fair.
This is one of those times. When Barcelona play like this, mere mortals don't have a chance.
Watch it and appreciate it: Barcelona completed 32 passes in the trademark tiki-taka style on the way to scoring their fourth and final goal against Real Zaragoza on Saturday. The goal appears above.
Pedro put his name on the scoresheet, but this goal belonged to the whole team.
It started at the back, where Barcelona's defenders knocked the ball around, prodding Zaragoza for weaknesses.
There seemed to be little danger when the ball moved to the the touchline at the top of the screen.
Suddenly, though, Barcelona attacked, and in seconds the ball was at the lethal feet of Argentine wizard Lionel Messi.
Messi could have shot, but he set up Pedro instead for a tap-in.
But while the tap-in was easy and the move appeared effortless, nothing about Barcelona's build-up was simple. If it were simple, everyone would be able to do it.
That's what makes Barcelona so good (well, one of the things, actually), and while it might be boring to some, there's no denying its effectiveness.
And that's why, with apologies to Lazio's Stefano Mauri, Pedro's goal is B/R's best of the weekend.
