WrestleMania 28: Looking Back at 7 Important Things We Learned
It is almost a week after WrestleMania 28. The event had many memorable moments and could go down as one of the best WrestleManias of all time.
When things happen, it is sometimes better to give them time to sink in. The events at WrestleMania 28 may be puzzling at first, but after we let them settle in, they may become clearer.
Now that a few days have passed, here are seven important things we learned from WrestleMania 28.
The Miz Is Done Getting Buried
1 of 7After the Miz botched a move that could have severely injured R-Truth, it looked as if he was going to get buried for a long time. The Miz couldn't buy a win, and it looked like he couldn't buy a spot on the WrestleMania card either.
He got involved in a match on the Monday Night Raw before WrestleMania and was inserted in the 12-man tag match. Then at WrestleMania, he got the win for Team Johnny. This is something that should definitely get Miz a decent push and showed that he is done getting buried.
WWE Is Serious About Brodus Clay
2 of 7Brodus Clay's spot at WrestleMania 28 was completely unnecessary. However, the WWE must seriously think Clay has a bright future with the company.
Clay could have easily been left out of the event. He still needs time to develop his in-ring skills, but the WWE has been persistent on trying to push him. Clay needs a serious feud in order to build his character and ability.
Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania showed that the WWE might be ready to put him in a rivalry. Clay came out to help Santino Marella against Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger.
Divas Championship Means Nothing
3 of 7The fact that the Divas Championship was not defended at WrestleMania proves that it means nothing.
Beth Phoenix could have faced Natalya in a match that lasted around 10 minutes. This could have showed that the Divas can actually put on an entertaining and well-wrestled match.
The WWE felt it was necessary to not only bring in Maria Menounos, but to also have her pin Phoenix to win the match.
The WWE might have to change the way they have handled the Divas division or they might lose it altogether.
Chris Jericho Can Still Hack It
4 of 7Most 41-year-old wrestlers move like they are 61 years old because of what their bodies have been through. Chris Jericho is 41 years old but still moves in the ring like he is 21.
Jericho proved that he can still wrestle with anybody, with his match against CM Punk at WrestleMania 28. It is possible that the breaks from wrestling that Jericho has taken in his career has helped with his longevity. Whatever it is that Jericho is doing, more wrestlers should do it, too.
John Cena Can Wrestle
5 of 7John Cena is often criticized for his lack of in-ring ability. He is not as bad as "Cena-haters" will suggest and he proved that again, by putting on a solid match against The Rock.
Cena displayed more than just his "five moves of doom" and reassured WWE fans that he is the complete package. Love him or hate him, Cena has the talent and charisma to deserve everything he has earned.
John Cena Can Lose
6 of 7Another thing that John Cena gets criticized for is being "Super Cena." He always seems to overcome the odds and never loses.
A loss to The Rock shows that Cena does lose. What is interesting is that, a loss for Cena may have been better for his career than a win.
Undertaker's Streak Will Never End
7 of 7I'll admit it, when I first realized that Triple H will try to end Undertaker's streak again, I thought it was stupid. I wanted something new or at least not a rematch. As the match began to build, I actually believed that Triple H was going to end the streak. Because of that, I was glued to the screen.
If ever there was ever a time for Undertaker's streak to end, it would have been to Triple H at WrestleMania 28. The end of an era could have ended with the end of the streak.
Since Undertaker was able to win again, his streak ending is no longer a possibility.
